The comment itself didn't show respect to participants in the Special Olympics so it's right to be sensitive about it. However, I think the president in his heart of hearts doesn't disrespect Special Olympics participants so as long as he shows support and respect to these individuals in the future, I hope people can move past this incident.
I'm offended because:
1. Most folks who would use a disabled person's condition to "make a joke" would NEVER walk a mile in the shoes of anyone who is living with a disability. As a parent, I live it 24/7/365...
2. Because Obama's a liberal, the media [and you] are pleading the 5th.
3. Had a conservative made the comment, say Franklin Graham or James Dobson, the media would utterly DESTROY him.
4. You need more? GROW UP!!!
We need to love and care for those with special needs, not use them to make condescending statements. THINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Face it. "your" president BLEW IT. Don't cover for him, or you have blood on your hands too.
